Today’s gift, The Support Ledger, is the practice of naming what something requires without moralizing it.

It replaces the question “Can I push through?” with “What would make this viable?”

This shift matters because the foundation of meaningful sustainability is an alignment between demand and capacity, rather than individual endurance.

When costs remain hidden, the system compensates by draining the person. When costs are named, support becomes a structural possibility rather than a personal failure.

The purpose of this exercise is:

• honest accounting (time, energy, money, labor)

• dismantling the myth of self-sufficiency

• naming what support really looks like

• reframing sustainability as a collective concern, not an individual failure

• What value does this work offer to others?

• Who benefits when this work continues?

2: What does this work cost?

• Energy required (physical, emotional, cognitive)

• Time required

• Financial cost

• Invisible labor

3: What am I carrying alone?

• What responsibilities feel heavier than they should?

• What have I normalized absorbing without acknowledgment?

4: Where support belongs

• Who already supports this work?

• Where could support exist but hasn’t been named?

• What would shared responsibility look like here?

5: Rebalancing
